Hi,
I've got the client side of amanda compiled and installed
on MacOS X, but it won't use dump. I think I've got gnutar going on
it now, we'll see tonight. But I'd rather use dump, unless someone
can tell me why using gnutar would be so much better.

I haven't been able to get the server side to work, it
can't find start_time, which makes no sense to me, but then I'm
not really a programmer any more. It is defined in a library as
a time_t structure. Since my Mac would just be a client, I don't
really care all that much.

Second, I back up an NT and a Win2000 machines with amanda,
and I get tons of 'strange' (amanda's word) output from it. Is there
a way to stop that? Is it samba or gnutar putting out the messages? The
output is basically a directory listing.

I've been toying with the idea of trying to compile the
client on NT or 2000, from messing with it on MacOS, the readme's
lead me to believe I could do it.

Paul.
