I've been having a lot of difficulty setting up the clients and getting it to
work with 'amcheck'. I have already gone through the FAQ about this error
and tried searching the archives and nothing has worked thus far.
When I attempt to run 'amcheck' on the tape-server host, admin1 (RedHat 6.2,
Amanda cvs version dated 06/04/2001) to check the client on, admin2 (RedHat
7.1, Amanda cvs version dated 06/04/2001) , this is the error that I receive:

I have done a portscan on admin2 and the amandad client is listening on
10080. The access time on the amandad executable IS being updated on admin2
when I run the check.
The '/tmp/amanda/amandad*.debug' file is being created, but it is
suspiciously short. It doesn't seem to be sending anything back in return:

I have been trying to get this to work for a couple of days now with no
success. BTW, if I run 'amcheck' from the tape-server host (admin1), to the
client on the tape-server host (admin1) it works fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
