Just wondering if anyone out there can help with this one. What I have is an Exabyte
tape changer, model EXB-120 with Slackware 8.0 kernel 2.4.5 running it. The scsi bus
finds everything just fine. The version of mtx I am using is mtx-1.2.16rel. In
amanda.conf, the tpchanger variable is set to "chg-zd-mtx" which I do believe is the
correct one. Where the problem comes in is when I do a "amcheck <whatever>" I get the
following error "amcheck-server: could not get changer info: badly formed result from
changer: /dev/sg4"

If I do a "mtx -f /dev/sg4 status" the following comes out:

Data Transfer Element 0:Empty
Data Transfer Element 1:Empty
      Storage Element 1:Full :VolumeTag=00003117
      Storage Element 2:Full :VolumeTag=00003120
      Storage Element 3:Full :VolumeTag=00003123
      Storage Element 4:Full :VolumeTag=00003131
      Storage Element 5:Full :VolumeTag=00003137
      Storage Element 6:Full :VolumeTag=00003139
      Storage Element 8:Empty
      Storage Element 9:Empty
        ... and so on

As an educated guess, I think the problem lies in the "glue script" - chg-zd-mtx but
am not sure of what to change.

Has anyone seen this before????
