Issue was resolved by including the optional domain field in /etc/amandapass. I'd recommend that this field be upgraded to 'recommended' instead of 'optional'. Thanks to Jon LaBadie for his ever insightful suggestions. They really helped since I wasn't thinking straight (too much work, too little sleep). =G=
