Since that is apparently a single 20+G filesystem, that seems to be an exceesive amount of time to back it up. Is it local disk, NFS, Samba, or what? Also, is it the backup server itself or a remote host? How fast is the CPU? Is Amanda the only thing running or is the host(s) busy? We need more info to help you find why it is taking so long.
