I have tried configure with: CFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/lib" LDFLAGS="-R/usr/local/lib" ./configure --with-user=amanda --with-group=backup \ --with-includes=/usr/local/include \ --with-libraries=/usr/local/lib \ --with-gnutar=/usr/local/bin/tar But this still keeps giving the same error. I have don make uninstall; make distclean between each compile attempt. Sorry if this is a bit OT, I'm sure its not an amanda problem. Jim
