So, what's the easiest way to run a command on a client before the dump starts and a different command after the dump finishes? I need to shut down a database, do the dump, then restart the database. Do I have to re-code the runtar executable to do this? C is a bit beyond my abilities at this point. If anyone has an example of how they've done this, please post or let me know.
