Hi, I had the same problem. It usually occured when I was browsing directories with long names and/or special characters (usually Windows clients)... I traced the error back to some file in the Amanda source but I don't know how to patch it. It crashes when it tries to CHDIR to the specified directory. I found a workaround that usually works (for me...). I use wildcards. So for example when I want to change the directory to "Local Settings" I use the command 'cd Loca*' or something like that. Fortunately I have not yet encountered a situation where using wildcards will not work ('Local Settings' and 'Local Stuff', for example). Maybe someone has a better workaround or suggestion?
