To answer myself i have sorted it - not _exactly_sure what the issue was but
i decided to rebuild my fresh kernel to see if i missed anything out - Did
not alter anything but this one seems to work a treat. Perhaps the build
messed up somewhere.

Note to self - check the obvious before posting!
