Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check -------------------------------- WARNING: localhost: selfcheck request timed out. Host down?
I understand that depending on the installation this issue result from either .amandahosts or .rhosts .
I just installed by default on a RedHat 8 server, so I'm not really sure what it did. I also understand that this file is supposed to be in amanda's home directory. So, whereas there was no /home/amanda, I created it and copied .amandahosts from /var/lib/amanda, but still no go (permissions are for amanda user, of course). [.amadahosts reads merely localhost amanda]. Still no go.
