Hrmm...excellent thought. Let's do some timings and see if it looks suspicious. When I run it on the one I've been testing with, I get: real 2m3.443s at 755M data. Then just for comparison I test on another large share on the same machine and it fails at: real 2m47.569s at 1.1G data. and a third.... real 3m4.338s at 744M data So, doesn't seem to be either a set amount of data nor a set amount of time. So what's left? I was watching 'top' output and it didn't seem to be hitting physical limits. Set number of files? At any rate, yes this is rather far off-topic here at this point.
