Thanks. I hadn't spotted that.

However, now I get the following:
selfcheck: debug 1 pid 13291 ruid 33 euid 33: start at Mon Oct 10
21:02:23 2005
/usr/lib/amanda/selfcheck: version 2.4.5
selfcheck: time 0.000: checking disk //gandalf/DocSetts
selfcheck: time 0.000: spawning /usr/bin/smbclient in pipeline
selfcheck: argument list: smbclient \\gandalf\DocSetts -U chris -E -W
GANDALF -c quit
selfcheck: time 0.039: samba access error: //gandalf/DocSetts: Error
connecting to 192.168.0.2 (Permission denied): Connection to gandalf
failed: returned 1
selfcheck: time 0.040: pid 13291 finish time Mon Oct 10 21:02:23 2005

The DocSetts share definitely exists and I can connect to it using
smbclient -U chris -E -W TELESPAN -c quit

Presumably amanda adds the additional backslashes when linking to Samba?
Or do I need to add these in one of the amanda files (disklist or
amandapass or .amandahosts)?
