Jen-Louis, OK. We can either downgrade tar or upgrade AMANDA on the AIX client.
on the debian server , amadmin config version gives LOCKING=POSIX_FCNTL SETPGRP_VOID DEBUG_CODE on all the clients, including the AIX clients, it shows the same for LOCKING= I would prefer not to upgrade AMANDA to 2.6.0p1 since it has not hit the debian/unstable tree yet, but we could if necessary. What advantage would running this new version give us in this situation ?
