Oops, yes, I did an amrmtape in an effort to force amdump to use the virtual tape that was in the incomplete dump, rather than overwrite the next one in the rotation. I used to do that with physical tapes, but perhaps I forgot that with virtual tapes, you need to amlabel the again? Iended up manually editing the tapelist, in any case.

Are the files on holding disk complete?  If they have names ending in
.tmp, then they are not a complete dump, and Amanda will not write
them to tape.

Yes, I'm afraid they are. I take it there is no point in keeping them, then? Ah well...maybe someday there'll be an "amresume" to resume interrupted, long dumps.
