See below the blocksize in the third print out is defined !

# grep -i block_size /opt/sfw/sbin/amtapetype | grep proper
        $device->property_set('BLOCK_SIZE', $opt_blocksize)
    my $block_size = $device->property_get("block_size");
    my $blocksize = $device->property_get("BLOCK_SIZE");
        $blocksize_line = "# add device_property \"BLOCK_SIZE\" \"$blocksize\"
to the device";

It should be upper case right.

Yes it ran for a quite long time.
I added a print in the script see below. It will run over the night.

That's odd.. it looks like it wrote 6910315 blocks, yet when it multiplied that
by the block size, it got something less than 1MB.
Did this take a long time, or happen immediately? Can you add some print's
around line 186 of amtapetype to print the blocksize and number of blocks?
