I installed the compiler etc right now ;-)

amanda-3.3.6 needs glib >= 2.2.0 ... sigh ... and this box only has 2.0.0 !

It feels odd to have to deal with such issues in very late 2014 ...

So now I can either install amanda-2.6.1.1-7.2.x86_64.rpm which is
provided by zypper (maybe there is something newer, but I don't want to
update any repos before asking the main admin there) or I dig around
which tarball might compile in this environment.

http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/Installation/Amanda%27s_Requirements

says:

"Glib: As of version 2.6.0, Amanda requires Glib version 2.2.0 or later."

Why then the rpm at 2.6.1 ?

;-)
