Ah! You've discovered the bug I found and reported to the author of Net::DNS. He fixed it in v .51. It was a trivial removal of a debug statement at around line 1061 of the Base.pm module. You can manually remove the line if you want by locating your Base.pm module in Net::DNS. It would be somewhere like: /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/i686-linux/Net/DNS/Resolver/Base.pm, depending upon your perl version.
I've not seen any problems with .51, but that' doesn't mean there aren't any.
