I am still curious, what does:
ps aux | grep amavis
say now?

And does this say anything, or not:?
grep Maia /usr/sbin/amavisd-new

I want to see:
ls -l /etc/init.d/*amavi*
ls -l /usr/sbin/*amavi*

Thanks.
