Maybe you have ancient unrar version? You could get the newest (http://www.rarlab.com/rar/unrarsrc-3.5.4.tar.gz) and compile it, if your distro doesn't have better version. You could also try 'rar' package which might be newer. Amavisd tries 'rar' before 'unrar'..
