That might work.  You remove the original message and then re-inject
several individually encrypted messages.  Just make sure your code is
rock solid so you don't start losing mail if the encryption process
fails for some reason.

You only need the public keys to encrypt the message.  The private
keys stay with the recipient where they belong.

It sounds feasible to me, but you never know what's going to come up
once you actually try to implement it.
