You need to begin by looking through your log(s) for clues to what the problem might be. Some recent troubles others have had are things like problems with external Perl modules, corrupt Bayes data, use of "sa-blacklist.cf" ruleset, spamassassin timeouts, wrong permissions, overloaded system, lots of stuff. Need to see some error messages (if they in fact exist) to get an idea why your MTA thought it needed to send the messages more than once. If you use Postfix, a message from Postfix like: (lost connection with 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once) is not particularly interesting because this message does not provide sufficient information. It is what amavisd reports that is more interesting. Temporarily increase $log_level if you don't find anything interesting in the logs at this point. Consider using amavisd-nanny to monitor the activities of the child processes. Use 'top' to monitor system load and memory usage. Look in your amavis home directory to see if a there are large numbers of orphaned amavis temporary directories. http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/#faq-trouble Gary V ------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
