Yes, but 'after some time' should be reasonably soon after you get
the spam - so it does some good right away. Although it may happen
much less frequently, you might also create a HAM folder for ham that
gets a high Bayes score - ham that may get marked as spam. Also, the
amavis user will not be able to read from that directory. One possible
solution would be to give the amavis user copies of the spam and ham.
You could create a directory and copy them there, and make a script to
make it easier. This assumes the amavis home directory is /var/amavis
and you create /var/amavis/spam and /var/amavis/ham subdirectories:

mkdir /var/amavis/spam
chmod 0750 /var/amavis/spam
mkdir /var/amavis/ham
chmod 0750 /var/amavis/ham

#!/bin/sh
#
# script to feed my stuff to Bayes
#
cp /home/blwegrzyn/mail/SPAM/* /var/amavis/spam
cp /home/blwegrzyn/mail/HAM/* /var/amavis/ham
chown -R amavis:amavis /var/amavis/spam
chown -R amavis:amavis /var/amavis/ham
su amavis -c 'sa-learn --spam /var/amavis/spam && rm -f /var/amavis/spam/*'
su amavis -c 'sa-learn --ham /var/amavis/ham && rm -f /var/amavis/ham/*'

I don't doubt there is a more efficient way to do this, but this
should be safe.
