Depends on what you have in mind. If you mean using ram disk for temporary directories and files used by amavisd and SpamAssassin, the caveat is not in losing anything, but in the fact that its size is commonly configured much lower than a true disk partition, so chances of filling it up when something unexpected happens are high, which will stop mail flow (tempfailing attempts, mail stays in MTA queue). Depending on a file system type in use, using ramdisk in place of a true disk may or may not bring noticable improvement. In my case I don't find any worthwhile improvements in speed, the main bottleneck with SpamAssassin is CPU, not I/O.
