Tom Beerbower commented on AMBARI-2926:
---------------------------------------
Proposal :
In PropertyHelper.getPropertyCategory(), check to see if the given property id
contains replacement tokens. If it does then look for the case where a / is
part of a replacement token and ignore it as a delimiter.
> PropertyHelper.getPropertyCategory() does not account for replacement tokens
> in property id

> The utility method PropertyHelper.getPropertyCategory(propertyId) does not
> account for replacement tokens in property ids. These were recently added to
> allow for dynamic metric names. For example ...
> {code}
> metrics/yarn/Queue/$1.replaceAll(",q(\d+)=","/").substring(1)
> {code}
> Since the / character is used as a delimiter, the / in the replacement token
> method argument will cause the category for the above property id to be
> reported as ...
> {code}
> metrics/yarn/Queue/$1.replaceAll(",q(\d+)=","
> {code}
> ... instead of ...
> {code}
> metrics/yarn/Queue
> {code}
