Hi Prem, As of now Ambari can only monitor what it manages/provisions. There is work involved to use Ambari to take over cluster (on the roadmap at: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Roadmap). This is something that we are starting to look at via https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ambari-1423.
Do take a look and see if that would solve your requirements. mahadev On 3/19/13, prem yadav <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > I was wondering if it is possible to use Ambari as just a monitoring tool > for existing clusters. > What I mean is, can I just install the agent on all existing nodes and have > an ambari server and use the dashboard for monitoring. > > Best regards, > Prem > -- Mahadev Konar Hortonworks Inc. http://hortonworks.com/
