We need to add a property to mapred-site.xml that is not defined in the Ambari GUI (thrift plugin for jobtracker). Any changes to mapred-site.xml get cleared up restart of JobTracker. We could not find a template for the xml in Puppet or otherwise in the suystem that we could change to make use of new property.
What is the recommended way for making changes to configuration files? Thanks, Gopinath
