We currently have 1D LUTs to define output transfer function but using a 1D LUT is not always the best way to define a transfer function for HW that has ROMs for certain transfer functions, or for HW that has complex PWL definition for accurate LUT definitions.
For this reason we're introducing named transfer functions. The original LUT behavior is preserved with the default "1D LUT" transfer function.
