Cassandra is shifting towards Avro, but Thrift is still the primary API. Since
Amdatu 0.1.1 we are using the Hector API instead of the raw Thrift API so
(except for the daemon), we are not really using the Thrift API anymore.
So this is a thing to remember, but we only have to take action as soon as
Cassandra drops Thrift as primary API.
