Compiling amforth for a particular setup is not simple. For quite a few reason (see documentation). The dependency on the Atmel Studio Assembler is only one of them. But not an important one. IMHO. wrt other assemblers I could tell a long story about avra and others (e.g. binutils from gnu)... But things are as they are.
