I don't want to give the impression there is no value in Bulkowski's book or in the chart patterns it lists.
If I didn't believe in the significance of patterns I wouldn't bother with TA. There are patterns in Bulkowski's encyclopedia worth testing. It is just that I don't get excited about it because it is a normal day in the office for me. I also have a big backlog of promising work waiting for analysis and testing; all of the patterns are in that queue. I also use Colby's Encyclopedia of Technical Indicators. Those two books are my bread and butter reference manuals. I am waiting on Katz and McCormicks Encyclopedia of Trading Strategies to complete the set. They are not the be all and end all but they do provide a solid foundation.
