hiya!
Continuing from last posting..
4. Have friends/not friends. This is all defined by the actions you perform for each
nick. Read..
This (in a sense) makes you behave like a bot where if a non-friend msg's you several
times in a channel he will be put on
ignore or kicked or even banned if you have channel operator (this all depends on how
you have the config set up and different actions can be chosen for
different people. By default, everyone is `normal' which basically makes you behave
exactly how you would in irc.
When a friend does an action you could do an ainfinate amount of things (as if they
were type into they keyboard). here's an idea of the interface you might
like to use in the settings:
| _U_sers | _E_vent _A_ction
| |
| SomeonesNick | Join /kick Bumhole | Whew!
| */_Blokesnick_/* | join [wait 3] How are ya doin'?
| Alien | kick Nice one Blokesnick
| Girlsnick | Ban Hee hee :)
| | Kill Ooo

Notice that there is a pipe (|) symbol between `/kick Bumhole' and `Wheew!'? This is
another idea I thought of which could be used as a seperator where you
would like to use several actions on a single event (could be used in the `Actions'
menu.) The event list is what the action responds to; some of these could be
pre-defined and users can add there own using the setup, by recognising certainlines
so the `join' event could be a pre-defined event and the occurance is when
the msg `<nick> (user@host) has joined this channel' e.t.c. appears in the channel
window. Another parameter could be wether it responds to raw msg's or msg's
from the client.
5. CTCP extensions.
Considering nearly every amiga user uses Amirc it won't hurt to update the `Client to
Client Protocol' would it? For Amiga users it won't have to become a
standard. The following suggestions could be pretty useful for everyone.
First of all there's the standard user info, this could be listed in the settings as
`Misc comments'.
Next ctcp command could be `mail'. Amirc would respond with whatever you have inserted
in the `Your email address' string in the amirc setup.
Plus several others, see the example.
Here's an example:
_CTCP Commands_

Your email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Do you have a website? |_Yes _|

Your Website address (URL): _http://www.com

Your Amiga Specification: _Power Amiga!!!!

Some of these may sound a little extensive and personal, which is good because it then
gives the user the decision as to wether they wish to give those
details away. You could perhaps even have certain aspects of your computer, such as a
tick box for wether you have a CDRom and a cycle gaget which brings up a
choise of speed. Basically, all this is so others can quickly find out what your Amiga
is, how they can contact you either via email or by phone. You could even
allow the user to add more ctcp commands and choose what they respond with. This could
be handy as a way of identifying people; if you wish to see if someone is
who you think they are and that person has given you a special ctcp command to use on
them and what to expect for a response, you could quite easily conclude
wether the person is for real.
