Hi

Well, AmIRC 3's not bad, but tbh it doesn't contain enough for me to upgrade
just yet (Yes, it's "only" 10, but that's a lot in my current
situation...).

My main gripe is still with the logging. Sure, it's nice to be able to
include the server name, but that isn't what I want.

I log pretty much everything, but AmIRC really screws up with multiple
networks; being on #amiga on ARCNet and ANet, e.g. ends up with CH_Amiga
having both interleaved, makig it useless. Ditto AmIRC.log.

I've "solved" this by having multiple configs and subdirs in my log dir for
each network I log, but this isn't exactly intuitive.

What I would like would be to have AmIRC's log dir hieracheal, mirroring the
server list, i.e, your server list is like this:

ARCNet
 `-uk1
 `-uk2
 `-uk3
ANet
 `-irc.thule.no
IRCNet
 `-Demon
 `-BT
 `-Stelth

And the log dir is mirrored so you have:

Logs/
Logs/ARCNet/
Logs/ANet/
Logs/IRCNet/

With logs from servers in each group in the subdirs. Although you can sort
of do this now by adding the server name to the logs, server names change
over networks. This wouldn't be too difficult to impliment, would it?

My second gripe is the amount of window space AmIRC takes up. Sure, there's
Single Channel Window, but that screws up logging, and it makes the window
really messy. Something like pIRCh would be nice, where windows are still
seperate, but contained in the same window accessable via tabs.

Regards

Tom
