Greetings All. Just have a lil suggestion/question Notices from the server. Could it not be an idea to have AmIRC drop the [Servername] before the *** Notice ? Some servers have long names and it kinda messes up the output a bit. Especially on longer notices its a pain. AmIRC also messes up a bit on some notices. Using whatever is entered in the profiles list or the host that was entered in /server instead of the actual server name (Which is the prefix of ALL notices from the server) It serves no purpose really to see the server name infront of the notice. At least an option to not have it show that would be nice. The same also for unknown RAW ####'s. Simply have it not display the server name and the first nickname or arg after the server name as it is always the target nick.. ie yourself. That way unknown ###'s wont look so ugly and will be a lil bit more readable. This is the way mIRC and others do it i belive. Nicknames... its nice to see AmIRC from 3.x support longer nicknames. I still miss AmIRC realizing when the nickname have been cut short due to the server having a lower nick lenght thou. AmIRC dont quite follow when the nick is changed. Although it shouldnt be to hard having it notice considering all notices from the server are prefixed with the users nickname. Finally. As of AmIRC3.2, it totally ignores mode changes regarding +h I mite have said this before... but couldnt AmIRC simply be made to distinguish between a: mode channel +/-mode and a mode channel +/-mode nick ? That way it will support all possible standard or non standard channel modes ever being thrown its way. And also having it do a /names when a mode is set on a nick. Quite a few nets use mode +h for HalfOp's... and i belive i read in mIRC manuals that EFnet uses it also. This prolly will raise the age old argument of non RFC standard. I say forget the RFC. The fact remains that there are 100ds of networks out there that use non standard modes etc etc. And it wont harm anyone at all having the IRC Client at least not blocking things out. Even the networks that are true to the RFC have features that are non RFC. In reality i dont think there are any networks who are true to the RFC anymore since its so blatantly outdated on some areas and havent been updated for as long as i can remember. Anyways... keep up the gr8t work. -- <sb>Yours Sincerely <sb> <sb>Thomas J.
