The DCC request goes through the server as a normal CTCP, sends information
like filename, their hostname and port number for your IRC client to
connect to to recieve the file. And as Dalnet is a very lame IRC network,
it thinks a text file is a virus. DCC Allow is probably a command in
mirc.. Thats really pathetic that a network as big as Dalnet is doing this.
It's not just us AmIRC users that has this problem, its going to affect
all the other users of Real Operating Systems..
On mirc, and maybe other clients, if you type something like /oogabooga
that is not a real command or alias. It will send "OOGABOOGA" to the
server.as a command. Do you follow? :) Try this: type /alias dccallow /raw
dccallow %p
Then try /dccallow nickname. Also try /dccallow help now and see what
happens.
