The easiest way is probably to disable the auth service in Genesis, and tick
the box in AmIRC for Use IdentD.

Although you've set up a new user in Netconnect, the default user is still
likely to be called root, right? For some weird reason Genesis will return
root for ident (auth) requests. (I think ;)

I use Miami mainly so i might be wrong about some of that. Disabling auth in
Genesis should definately allow you to specify another ident in AmIRC.
