Well, seems to work fine for universal ircd and the new ircu aswell.
Once upon a time i wrote my on alinear channelmode parsing rutine in
tcl and i know how bad it would break if there was a new mode
requireing a argument.
IF +S dosn't need a option is se no reason for it to break.
(or there is something else that breaks it)
If, when and if again the 004 numerc could tell you what modes there
were that requred a argument you COULD write a parser that was dynamic
but that would requre some work though.
example line:
«Server» se1.arcnet.vapor.com is vu2.10.08.35.(gamesnet).ARCNetV10,
accepting user modes dioswkgG and channel modes
biklmnopstv.
I currently use that line to check if it's a ircu or not, if it is a
ircu then i can use the ircu extensions via my plugin. However i know
that mode parsing is not possible.
As for the other added stuff.. I guess that the programmers needed
that and thus added it. But, still the only promised support is for
the old rfc since there is a thousands of different ircnetworks that
all works in different ways, Supporting them all is kinda impossible.
Almost like trying to use any microsoftian server in a standard way.
