The setting for the kind of window you get is obviously in the setup
of AmIRC.  It's in the "GUI" section under the "Channels" tab.
The setting is called "Userlist:" and it's a cycle gadget.  Setting
it to "Visible" causes the user list to show up as part of the
channel text window.
