Make a rotary convertor out of a big old 3 phase motor, a capacitor bank and a 
few relays to control it.  Figure 1 kw out per HP of motor size.

The really old multi cabinet rigs have enough empty space that one could redo 
the internals into one cabinet and use the others as a cabin to live in.  You'd 
have to have the living space as the XYL would put the boot to you.
