The pot hasn't burned. It has developed a rough spot and it is just a
matter of time before it opens. When that happens the screen voltage on the
driver tube goes very high.
The 25 watt one would not fit without drilling holes in the front panel.

Mouser has a 25K, 25 Watt. The extra wattage might keep it from burning
out again. They call it a rheostat but the picture shows 3 terminals.
Part no.588-rhs-25k. Take a look.
