Thanks Ken...  I have not aligned or checked the alignment, so it could 
very well be the culprit.  I think I'll play with it a while before I 
dive back into that phase.

...Another possibility of not getting proper results is an incorrect 
RF alignment of the R-388, by not using the proper antenna load during 
the alignment process.
