Randall, that is a very open question, but I will see if I understand what you mean. You have place a question on the list so to initiate a conversation, just address the message as you have here and send it. If you wish to respond to something already posted, choose the Reply button then edit what comes up to minimize the amount of the displayed message to focus on what you want to comment about.
It is good practice to remove the footer from the message because when you hit send, the same footer will be added and when the message arrives in everyone's box, it will have that footer added two time. I also remove the names and email addresses in the header because the sender will recognize what he/she posted and there should not be any personal direct objections what someone has said. It is fine to disagree, but not be personal about it. That is my take on Replies Also by doing this we reduce the amount of space required in the archives. We look at posters and their submissions on this list as welcome guests. We realize people will make mistakes with posting so if something is amiss, you will receive a gentle reminder. All we ask is do your best to follow the rules but don't feel you are under a microscope. It would be good for you to read the List Rules if you have any questions. The link to them is in the footer.
