Tom, I have a copy of the ARRL grid square atlas, and it's all black and white inside. It shows the entire world, which is helpful for some of the grids you can work on some satellites that are outside what a U.S. map would show. That being said, the grids are very tiny in the atlas.

And, although ARRL chose to show only the cover of it's grid square book, I think the pages inside are in color(?).
