I have not tested it on satellites but the sensitivity on the sub-band is not good compared to the main-band. To solve this you can enable the "lamp/squelch" button to be the PTT. Now you can receive on the main-band and when pressing the "lamp/squelch" the PTT is x-mitting on the frequency you have on the sub-band. This could be a solution for the bad sensitivity.
