Kevin, Hawaii is possible but passes on AO-51 need to be close to the 1/2 way point between the west coast and Hawaii. Last September my wife & I went to Oahu and I operated from the entrance to Diamond Head. I was able to make a contact with Glenn, AA5PK, in Texas from there. We figured that we were both around 1 degree over the horizon. All I had was my trusty Arrow, IC-W32A and Hamtronics 450 preamp. Pretty amazing what these sats can do!
But don't do as I find myself forgetting to do too often - keep those keps up to date! - Tom, KA6SIP -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Deane <summit...@live.com> To: amsat-bb <amsat-bb@amsat.org> Sent: Thu, Jun 2, 2011 4:45 pm Subject: [amsat-bb] Hawaii Qsl as anyone ever got Hawaii from the West Coast?
