As I have noted before...not everyone is contesting or looking for QSL cards when making contacts. There are multiple other possibilities the op needs confirmation of the callsign.

Maybe he promised his contact he would forward a manual to him and realized that the call was not in the book for an address.

We will never know and I'm not sure it is everyone's business...

There is more to this hobby than "grid squares"
