Ok, so I can now understand why you do not see this option as a good
one. I did not mean to sound like a baby, I just wanted to "cast my
vote" even if I did not use those exact words. I just stated what I
wanted. Anyway, I will settle with no setting and edit the lines by
myself, no problems there.
I was not aware that it was such a hard feature to add, and I am really
sorry I did not take the time to search at sourceforge. Honestly I did
not think of that. I just used google to search for this but I should
have used sourceforge. Thank you, I will do that the next time.

Hi,
sorry, but I feel I need to be harsh again with our beloved users...
first, don't say "no, no, I want a setting", because I'll tell you
what, I don't care about what you want!!! Yes, amsn is very
user-oriented but look, we can't give everything to the users, you
could cast your vote, and say "too bad, I would have loved to be able
to set it to my own shortcut" then I would have answered "we won't give
you a settings to do it because of blablabla... but you can modify line
XXX in file XXX.tcl and put whatever you want as a shortcut for
yourself" but you see, a "no, no, I want a setting" just reminds me of
a baby who wants some candy...
I'm sorry but no, I vote against a setting.. first it's because it will
be difficult to do (didn't you notice there is no shortcut that can be
configured in amsn ?) secondly, because it can easily introduce a whole
set of bugs... third, we don't have the resources to work on such a
feature... and last but not the least, there are far too many settings
now, and amsn shouldn't become awfully bloated!!!
Even if YOU want a setting that is alt-w and alt-e, and even if 100
people ask for this, we won't do it for a simple reason : "it's not
standard" .. it will be a ctrl-page up ctrl-page down, and ctrl-w will
be used to close a tab...
There were a lot of discussions about this, and at first you really
iritated me asking for this feature without taking the time to use
sourceforge's search engine to find if it's a duplicate question... but
I said to myself "stay calm, relax, don't yell at him, explain it
calmly", then you come up with that stupid crybaby sentance "no, no, I
want a setting".. oh my god!!! I'm loosing my time here..

No, no. I want a setting. I use alt+w and alt+e for most of tab-shifts
(konsole, fluxbox, etc) and have similar (shift+alt+w/e) for switching
desktops. I would not like to use some other setting for amsn since I
like to be able to use mostly the left hand for my mostly used
shortcuts. Choice is good and people like different things. One may
feel comfortable with one setting but others may not. I see no harm in
letting the user decide how he or she should switch between tabs.

arghh... no setting, but yes a shortcut for various tab manipulation
stuff... is on the TODO and was discussed several times... but no,
not yet implemented...

I don't know if there actually is a shortcut. But indeed there
should be one.
Although I think it shouldn't be a setting. If there is a commonly
used
shortcut for switching tabs, we should use that.

Is there any way to use keyboard shortcuts to switch between
different
tabs within a conversation window? I noticed that there are not
settings
for them, which I think that there should be. But are there any at
all?
Kind of annoying having to use the mouse to switch between them.
