Phil: SUSE uses .rpm too I think we should look into klik as an addition to the rpm, deb, tarball, etc. packages. It allows you to run an application with 1 single click. The only requirement is to download the klik client. The klik client then does the rest of the work. For example, let's say I want to install the latest amarok. I'll run: klik://amarok-svn-nightly
It will take a look at the recipe for amarok-svn-nightly, download its deps. and launch amarok-svn-nightly. I think this would be an excellent way to approach cvs-snapshots. Klik does not yet support all distros, but with more people testing, it could get there soon. I have been using klik for quite a while now, and it is a great way to try software without installing. (note: i've tried new betas of kde and e17 with klik) More info: http://klik.atekon.de/ ~Lee On 11/16/05, Le Philousophe - Phil <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > A new linux user will use RPMs and he won't have to do any make or > configure !! > You can use my amazing system to create RPMs and next distribute them !! > (I must throw to me flowers since nobody reply to my previous mail...... :'( ) > Well I would like someone does the same to generate debian packages.
