by the way, I was just asked what "Allah akbar" means.. which is what Yves
said on IRC after saying we should make a revolution, kill everyone or
whatever...
it means "Dieu est grand", "God is the greatest", it means that God is
above us and is powerfull and the most generous, "misericordieux", etc...
Muslims say "Allah akbar" when praying, the Prayer call has "Allah akbar"
in it, and mostly, it's a sentence used by muslims whenever they want to
thank God for His greatness. If your life was at risk and someone you were
saved, you would say Allah Akbar, to mean, God is above us, he's great, I
could have died if He wanted me to, but he didn't and I thank him, etc..
whenever you feel God's power around you, you acknowlege it with this
sentence... (these are customs, traditions, not mandatory things imposed
by Islam...) but usually it's mostly used for prayer...
In most american movies, they use that sentence whenever they want to show
you they are filming in an arabic/muslim country, or when someone is
muslim..
example, in Smallville, when Lex Luthor found one of the crystals in an
egyptian pyramid, the egyptians that found it began saying "allah akbar,
allah akbar" and a kind of 'praying' movement.. this was SO RIDICULOUS...
but that's americans... anyways, with all those american movies, they
began showing terrorists saying Allah akbar whenever they want to set off
a bomb or something.. just to say "this is a muslim killing people", which
is stupid, because you can't associate God's name with murder... anyways...

50GB limit, you should just go create a home based porn site".. I
deleted his post, he didn't understand why, I told him it didn't show
any humor, it only showed lack of professionalism and respect for
someone who is trying to help and it was misplaced.. he said in that
case, he should create another account where people wouldn't know he's
the admin and where he could blast people the way he wants.. a few days
later, a new account "Backup2" was created and that guy is just a
bitch, insulting people, saying stupid things, I warned him a few times,
I deleted a lot of his posts, I even told him "stop being this way or
I'll have you banned", he just laughed at me and provocated me saying
"ouhhh, getting banned from an internet forum, loool" and such...... oh
btw, I had already sent a PM to backup2 asking him to calm down because
he's disrespecting our users, and if he's not there to put meaningfull
comments in the forums, then he shouldn't put anything.. I also asked if
it was Yve's second user, I just got an answer "who's Yves?".. but I
still think that it was Yves) anyways, I wanted to ban him, couldn't
because I didn't have the rights to do it.. was about to send a message
to Yves (the only one with admin rights...) when I got a message from
him :

ohh thanx, I was about to PM you about this, I wanted full admin
permissions, I don't know why I shouldn't have admin.. I don't know
either why you say i have "temporary admin"...
anyways, I wanted to ban Backup2.. look for his messages, this guy

The forums dont require multiple admins, only mods, and you showed lack
of self restraint when I told you to not ban anyone...... Backup2 sent
me an e-mail, and I have unbanned him. Sure, he's an ass, but as I
clearly stated in my PM, you should have just used the probation
button....unfortunatly, I'm going to have to put you back to your
moderator status....hope you dont get too worked up...after all...this
is just an internet forum.
By the way.. I did ban Backup2, because I spent 30 minutes looking for
this damn "probation" button (which I don't know the purpose since you
can ban/unban) and wasn't lucky enough to find it anywhere...
Now, I get this last email from Yves, I'm not admin anymore + I get the
feeling Yves is laughing at me (he got an email from backup2 ?? why
would he send an email to Yves, how would he know his email, how would
he know he's the admin... and I'm sure Backup2 is Yves himself, Yves
said the same as Backup2 : it's just an internet forum...) + I hate it
when someone without any rights try to use his 'powers' against you, I
mean, who is Yves? how did he contribute to amsn ? he has a server, he
paid for the amsnforums.net domain (only lately) oh yeah, and he tar
-xzvf bbcode.tar.gz into his htdocs directory... so what ? does it give
him the right to talk to me like this (he wasn't disrespectful or
anything, but I don't like the 'superiority' he's taken when talking to
me)...
If everyone remembers, I was always against the idea of moving the
forums to recordingground, I also told Yves that we refuse his help
until some others jumped in and said it would be great... but I always
stated I don't like the idea because it would be separate from SF and we
wouldn't be the admins...
then I was convinced by "when you're ready to use recordingground
forums, you'll get admin status, I'll host the forums, but you'll manage
it, you'll be admins"... Yves was supposed to ONLY "host" the forum.. I
think he has a head a bit too big for someone who only hosts the
files... I don't have admin to the forums, there is a son of a bitch
insulting our users and laughing at us by bringing chaos in the forums,
and we just can't do anything against him because someone who paid 10$ a
year for a domain name doesn't want us to...
There is no way I'm gonna beg Yves, I don't have to beg him for
something that is righfully mine (a.k.a ours), he's not even from the
team and he's trying to manage everything in the forums.. dont' forget
that the forums are a big part of our reputation, they will consist of
all our userbase, all aMSN community will be linked to us through there,
and yet, we have our hands tied...
tell me, what is wrong with a "scp -r *
shells.f.net:/home/groups/a/am/amsn/htdocs/forums" ??? oh yeah, and add
to it a little dump of the DB and a paste of the dump into SF db...
apart from that, we lost nothing... (apart from users still having
links or bookmarks to Yves website)
Now I'd like everyone input on this, do we want to keep a stupid
10$ donator (I can give my own money to buy a domain name if we can get
rid of that arrogant guy), avoid hurting him, and maybe loose users
because they were insulted by someone, or even if we don't loose users,
we'll loose face because this guy is playing with us, having our hands
tied and arrogantly taking over the whole forums without any rights...
(why would he deserve admin and not the aMSN team ???) or do we want to
keep our consistency with a http://amsn.sf.net/forums/ page and being
the proud admins of our own community ?
Let's make it into a vote :
* take over aMSN forums and request what is rightfully ours

* Youness is talking nonsense, Yves is a nice guy and has every right to
keep kakaroto from having admin
any comments/input accompanying the vote would be greatly appreciated.
(I'd like to know if I'm loosing my mind! for once that I've controlled
myself :P)
