Too long email Youness again ;-)

sorry.. its either writing long emails to you (inconito:P) or studying Cobol for my next project... what would you decide? :P

Yes I was rude on that email, but still, I was rude on ALL emails
about advanced options (don't take it personal!). And everybody here
knows that each time someone adds an advanced option, I will be rude!

hehe, yes, I know, you're always rude when it comes to things like that, I didn't say it was something personnal and I'm sure vivia knew that ;)

Yes advanced options are just for advanced users, it's just there's
too much totally useless options. And even if we say this is for
advanced users, we have TOO much stuff there. Sometimes someone ask
me if they can change an option, I say yes, look in advanced. And
then they say.."Hmm where? There's like a hundred option and I can't
find exactly the option" and then I have to start finding my self and
GRRRRR too much stuff!

yeah, I understand you on that.. maybe find an alternate solution for better organization of the advanced prefs.. I mean if we remove them, you'll have to say "you can with an advance dpref", he'll say "where is it?", you'll say "let me find it", then you don't find it, then you tell the guy there's no pref, then someone else answers on the forum "no, there was an option, I have it enabled, but now, it seems it's not in the advanced prefs window anymore, was it moved??", then the guy says "ohh pleaasseeee, pleassseee, find where it was moved to!!!", and now, you're looking at config.tcl, looking through a list of config keys (or doing [array names ::config::config] ) and trying to know what is the key to enable the feature that guy wants.. then you tell him "it's ::config::setKey blabla", then he says "where should I type it", you say "ctrl-S from contact list", and there he says (I already got that answer) "where can I find that contact list window you're talking about, I opened amsn, I'm online, but I don't know see a window called contact list" ..

Like

"Send other users notifications when typing"

What the hell?! Why someone would want to remove that? Why not asking
people if they want the webcam icon at left instead of at left? If
someone is geek enough to want that kind of option, then he just have
to code it himself or activate it manually by a key (or a plugin,
like Gaim), but plz, we don't need that in aMSN! Too much is like not
enough

if I remember correctly, that option was requested many many times before...
each option we have is because more than 1 person requested it...

anyways, I think you're right, 100% right on the fact that we're over-bloated.. but we have no choice for now.. if we can find an intelligent/easy alternate solution, then we're good, if not, I really suggest allowing time on completing the new pref window instead Tom accepted to complete it once he finishes his widgets.. (btw, they look great and can anyone who said they are too slow, can you test if the 'slowness' is coming from posting/unposting the menus are from manipulating them as is) he's the UI designer, so he'll design a UI that is simple and user-friendly, etc... (I designed something that may be used) and he'll develop it using Alvaro's code..
