I had actually thought of both, the first I tested on the status line to see
what would be returned from that list and it gave me weird places for the
array {}. The second I had also thought of (I actually thought that I had
put it in a PS from that email) but really didn't like the syntax, coz it is
still very error prone (ie the way you have it there $balloon_message will
be expanded too early so the number/position of the parameters will be
